Nawigizigweyas Education Centre is looking for a full time, Early Learning Literacy Teacher. The position is to commence immediately or on a mutually agreed upon date and terminate on June 30, 2017 with a possibility of an extension.
General role: The Early Learning Literacy Teacher provides leadership in developing, promoting and maintain early learning programming and curriculum, and is also responsible for the early learning intervention initiative at Nawigizigweyas Education Centre.
Qualifications:
Mandatory qualifications include:
-Saskatchewan Professional "A" Teaching Certificate
-Minimum 5 years teaching experience, preferably;
-The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the Saskatoon Tribal Council; with local and provincial education partnerships and organizations; and with broad cross-section of the local community;
-Strong understanding of Aboriginal Traditions, values, cultures and perspective would be an asset.
-Current Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided; -Reliable transportation and possess a valid driver's license; and Other, as identified by First Nation.
Preferred qualifications include:
-Ability to speak or understand First Nation Language would be an asset;
-past experience working in a First Nation School
-other, as identified by First Nation
