PURPOSE: Raise funds for the SFI on behalf of Sherbrooke Community Centre (SCC) & Central Haven Special Care Home (CH). WORK: Reports to the CFO & works with the Communications & Community Development Leader (CCDL) & the Exec Sec, this position solicits, cultivates, & stewards donors of SFI. Located at SCC. Self-starter & passionate about Elder care. Some evening & wknd work is reqd. Duties are in keeping with the mission of SCC, PP of Care, Organizational PP, & Eden Alt PP. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Create/dev & imp annual development plan. Build & enhance relations with donors, partners incl SCC stakeholders. Solicit donors in order to raise annual funds & major gifts. Dev & imp a Planned Giving pgm & raise major gifts. Doc/track donor contact/comm. Dev & manage SFIs donor recognition pgm. Consult with the CCDL when developing communication plans in support of SFI objectives (Including: proposals, solicitation materials, and select communication resources relating to development strategies); Collaborate with SCC/CH staff to align SFI & SCC/CH obj. QUALIFICATIONS: A relevant URG university degree & CFRE designation or working to obtain. Mem in the AFP would be reqd. 3-5 yrs of rel exp in fund development or a combination of development & related exp incl major gifts & planned giving. Exp with donor tracking software such as Raisers Edge. Knowledge or exp within healthcare sector &/or event planning would be an asset. SKILLS: Demonstrated prof maturity, judgment & decisiveness; take initiative & work collaboratively; leadership skills & work well in a team env; planning & org skills; interpersonal & exceptional comm (written & verbal), public speaking, presentation, facilitation & negotiation skills; & proficient comp skills (incl social media), understand information sys as well as learn & use fundraising software pgms.
