Description

OVERVIEW

The Program Director is responsible to the Executive Director for the planning, coordination and implementation of the overall activity programming and Person Centred Plans within the Pipestone Kin-Ability Centre, associated Group Homes and Supported Living Program.

GENERAL DUTIES

1.Work cooperatively and jointly with participants, members of the Admissions, Review, and Transition Committee (ART) as well as appropriate staff in developing and implementing of annual Person Centred Plans.

2. Plan, coordinate and implement the overall participant activity program.

3. Consult with Social Workers, parents, guardians, and other staff about program participant needs on a continuous basis.

4. Work jointly with the other staff in the instruction and supervision of staff, employees and volunteers working in the activity/program area.

5. Instruct program participants on all the necessary skills relevant to their needs in areas of self-care, communication, socialization, job responsibility and the planning of their work day.

6. Supervise, plan and implement program participant activities and special events.

7. Ensure the proper maintenance and care of all equipment, supplies and the overall cleanliness and appearance of the activity/program area.

8.Participate in other work areas and perform all other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

9.Plan, coordinate and implement the overall activity program.

10. Administrative and personnel duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1.Education  Bachelor of Social Work, Rehabilitation Worker Diploma, CLSD, 1, 2 & 3 Training, MANDT, Special Care Aide, or equivalent education and training.
