Description

Objective:
    To ensure the provision of a quality childcare service which fulfills the philosophy of the centre.
    To ensure that the centre operated in compliance with the Child Care Act and The Child Care Regulations.
    To administer the policies of the Board by developing and implementing procedures which meet the goals and objectives of the centre.
    To provide key information to the Board to assist them in their decision and policy making function.

 - 2 years
 - 3-11 months
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
 - Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
Early Childhood Education Skills
 - Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
 - Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
 - Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
 - Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations
Additional Skills
 - Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
 - Prepare budget
 - Order supplies and equipment
 - Maintain day care supplies and equipment
 - Assist in maintaining records of children
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
