Full Time Permanent Facility Operator - Eastend School
Competition # 1992
Start date: November 14, 2016

Preferences will be given to applicants who:
*    Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
*    Demonstrate diligence, strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship
*    Perform minor interior and exterior repairs/maintenance
*    Perform daily cleaning, dusting, washing, polishing and scrubbing
*    Demonstrate an interest in students and in education
*    Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
*    Display energy, initiative, and enthusiasm
*    Maintain a positive attitude, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with students, staff, parents, the general public and school division personnel
*    Maintain confidentiality and use discretion in all instances

Desired Qualifications:
*    Grade X minimum
*    Fireman's Certificate
*    Ability to deal tactfully and cooperatively with public, students, staff
*    Minimum of 1-year experience in building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems
*    Good mechanical ability with strong capabilities in the area of troubleshooting
*    Strong background and knowledge of safe workplace practices
*    Proficient in the use of all hand tools and equipment
*    Good physical condition
