The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Foreman in the Streets and Roadways Department of the Infrastructure and Operations Division. This is a permanent full-time position. Hours of work may vary, based on operational requirements.

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Streets and Roadways, the Streets and Roadways Foreman is responsible for the supervision of all streets and roadway activities such as construction, maintenance and repair of streets, lanes, bridges (pedestrian and vehicular), and sidewalks.  The Foreman is responsible for the supervision and assignment of duties to all on-site workers and the enforcement of all required safety and work regulation policies.  Other responsibilities include the operation of street sweepers, motor graders, excavators, wheel loaders and other related equipment used in the maintenance of roads, streets and lanes.

Basic Requirements:
    Successful completion of Grade 12;
    5 years experience in municipal & public works operations;
    Must possess and maintain a valid Class 3A Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operators License;
    Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer;
    Experience operating related construction and maintenance equipment;
    Experience in a supervisory role;
    Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
    Ability to perform general checks and maintenance on equipment;
    Excellent communication skills and decision making abilities; and
    Effective team building & leadership skills.

The salary range for this position is $25.70 to $31.27 per hour in accordance with City of Swift Current/CUPE Local 183 Collective Agreement.  The City offers an attractive benefits package.
