Job Description: The Financial Analyst is accountable to the Controller.
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will assist with the efficient and effective operation, development and maintenance of the financial, statistical, and budgetary information systems of the Region.
The incumbent assists with the maintenance of the Regions revenues, expenditures, accounting, statistical/utilization information and budgeting in accordance with the Region and government policies. The incumbent performs regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and prepares working papers sufficient for internal and external audit purposes. Further, the financial analyst will assist with managing the electronic budgeting system, analyzing reported variances, and preparing ad hoc reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Enrolled in or completed a Professional Accounting Designation; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of 2-3 years direct accounting experience.
Previous payroll experience is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced computer skills, extensive knowledge of database systems and spreadsheet applications, ability to extract information from other applications; extensive knowledge of fully integrated accounting systems.
Ability to work independently.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations and environments and develop practical solutions.
This is a regional position currently based out of Lloydminster.
Geographic Location: Lloydminster
Expected Start Date: November 1, 2016
Expected Up To Date: September 30, 2018
FTE: 1.00
Hours of Work: In a 1 week rotation: 5 shifts of 7.50 hours
