Description

Tisdale Community Library has been approved to host an IT Youth Intern by the Saskatchewan Youth Initiative Program.

Youth Initiative Program Requirements:
Qualified youth intern applicants must be between 15-30 years, be legally entitled to work in Canada and must be able to demonstrate some post-secondary education beyond high school.
Applicants cannot currently be receiving Employment Insurance benefits.
High school graduates with no further post-secondary education cannot be considered.

A Criminal Record Check is required.

Duties:
This internship has the expectation that the youth intern will acquire new knowledge about library technology and digital skills during the internship.
The youth intern must have endless patience and enthusiasm for helping the public of all ages and abilities to improve their technology skills.
Help the public to learn new digital skills with their personal devices.
Assist the public with the use of public access computers, photocopier, printer as well as various personal mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and ereaders.
Create social media library posts, update websites, create posters and handouts.
Plan and teach free technology training workshops for the public.
Conduct free one-on-one technology training lessons to the public by appointment at the library.
Promote and create awareness of the CAP site.
Excellent communication skills are required.
