The Provincial Emergency Communications Centre (SASK911) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is seeking career minded individuals that are looking for a rewarding career in the field of emergency communications.
The Emergency Communications Centre operates 24/7, 365 days a year. It is one of three 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points; that provides a critical service to the province. The Centre also provides monitoring and dispatching services for fire departments and government ministries; that support public safety, protection and enforcement.
Our dedicated professional staff participate in a highly developed internal training process; comprised of a combination of classroom and on-the-job mentorship training. The program courses are based on internationally recognized standards including 9-1-1 Call taking, Emergency Fire Dispatching, Enforcement Dispatching, Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), and Incident Command System (ISC).
We offer a competitive starting training wage ($18.14- $25.40); while employees are completing a tiered training program. Once training is complete, permanent employment may be offered.
Candidates must have:
- High School Diploma or Canadian equivalent (e.g., GED, IQAS approved equivalency) minimum; preferably to include some post secondary training.
- Possess strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows operating system.
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm is mandatory, supported by certified documentation.
- Provide a clear criminal record check (basic & vulnerability) during the hiring process.
- Provide a certified hearing test during the hiring process.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Have positive interpersonal skills and the ability to function alone, or on a team.
