Under the Supervision of the Director of Education, the Post-Secondary/Career Councillor will perform a variety of duties including but not limited to:
Assisting Kindergarten to grade 12 students in developing a career path..
Assisting students in obtaining post-secondary diplomas/degrees.
Provide ongoing mentorship and support for post-secondary students
Support and refer students to other programs when necessary
Employment Qualifications:
An education degree, or as degree of comparative nature: will also look at a combination of previous similar background education/work and related experience.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, and with other agencies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must possess good working knowledge of computer technology.
Understanding and awareness of local cultural milieu.
Must practice a healthy life-style.
Valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
Requires strong human relations skills and the ability to work with other people and students in conflict situation.
