Under the direction of the Manager of Settlement and Community Support Services, the Settlement Support Worker in Schools will assist refugee and immigrant students and their families with school related and cultural issues by providing liaison to education and community services, counselling, facilitating group and individual programs and coordinating the integration of services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering services that is the result of collaboration between the Society, Citizenship and Immigration Canada and school boards including the Conseil des ecoles fransaskoises. The position will be located in community schools and will require traveling to other schools in Saskatoon. Additional language is considered an asset.

**Education and Experience:
-University degree in education, social work, or related field and, one year of work
experience providing school age children/family counselling services, OR
-Graduate of post secondary program (2 year minimum) in education or social sciences,
and, two years work experience providing school age children/family counselling
services.
-Experience working in a school setting with families, teachers and school
administrators.
-Cross-Cultural experience
-Conflict Management and mediation training.
-Public speaking experience.
-Experience conducting/facilitating workshops.
**Required Licenses and/or Certificates:
-Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) certification - no criminal record (includes
Vulnerable Sector Search) must be done within last three months.
-You will need a valid class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel purposes.
