Description

The Eston & District Landfill Authority, is seeking a full time Landfill Manager. This position is primarily responsibly for the day to day management of the landfill.

Time not required at the landfill will be assigned to other departments as required based on skill.

Evening and weekend work is required. On the job training and professional development are available. Full benefits package takes affect on the first day of employment.

Duties
- Ensure smooth operation of the landfill
- Direct Vehicles at landfill, gather documentation and payment, inspect vehicle contents.
- Accommodate after hours tipping request.
- Manage cash and reporting
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Assist with minor construction & repair jobs
- Keep the site, equipment tidy & maintained
- Conduct regular controlled burns
- Complete regular reports & provide policy best practice recommendations
- Attend landfill specific training
- Work with engineers & construction workers on the development of the site including digging of cells, building of the berm, fence and weather road.
- Address rodent issues
- Other duties as required

Qualifications
- Hold & maintain Class 5 driver's license. Preference will be given to those with 1A.
- Willing to obtain additional training.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Follow instruction while being able to work independently.
- Ideally, mechanical aptitude. Weld & carpentry skills.
