Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout Saskatoon. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion. We provide extensive ongoing training as well as 24/7 support to our CAREGivers.
DUTIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:
Companionship and Conversation
Meal Preparation
Light Housekeeping
Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming
Incontinence Care
Transferring Assistance
Medication Reminders
Alzheimers or Dementia Care
Palliative Care
Errands, Shopping, Outings, Appointments
Activities (hobbies, games, crafts)
REQUIREMENTS TO BE A CAREGIVER:
Continuing Care Aide Certificate preferred
Legal status to work in Canada
Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
Ability to speak and write English at an average to high adult level
Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
Complete a criminal background check, a vulnerable sector check,
References
Possess a valid drivers license
Vehicle with valid auto insurance
SCHEDULING:
Weekend CAREGivers provide consistent availability on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend CAREGivers work 6-7 hours on Saturdays and 6-7 hours on Sundays. Shifts may be scheduled mornings, afternoons or evenings, depending on what candidates can consistently offer. Shifts are also available midweek, for candidates who have consistent weekly availability.
