Summary of Duties:
This position as a Security Officer you must be physically and mentally fit as well you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enforce procedural rules and regulations. Ensure the personal safety of staff, visitors, and property. Maintain security and safety for assigned areas. Maintain working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements. Securing the building and equipment of the Arena and enforcing access throughout the building. As well as maintain order before, during and after events. Regularly patrolling the area and ensures the enforcement of all security rules and regulations. Distinguished from the classification of a Police Officer since they do not have the powers to arrest offenders or write citations but are required to report suspicious activities to Police Officers for follow-up and action.
Education and Experience:
Must be at least Nineteen (19) years of age.
Grade twelve (12) education is preferred.
Formal training and/or work experience in the field of security services or crowd control is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in public relations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Physical ability to handle confrontational/violent/abusive/intoxicated situations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
