Description

SUMMARY: The Daycare & Headstart Coordinator will be responsible for running & maintaining the Daycare Headstart programs for young children on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation. He/she will ensure development & safety of the children in accordance with relevant Yorkton Tribal Early Child program guidelines, band legislation policies & procedures. Other responsibilities include shift scheduling, management of employees, manage associated costs of equipment & supplies, & other expenses, & maintain current accurate confidential client & program files. The Coordinator will also manage budgets, report on expenditures & revenues & supervise the daycare & Headstart staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma with 2 - 3 years experience.
- Certificates in First Aid & CPR.
- Certificate in Safe Food Handling from a recognized institution.
- Possess valid driver's licence & own reliable vehicle.  
- Must be prepared to sign an Oath of Confidentiality
- Submit a cover letter & resume
- Submit an up-to-date Vulnerable check within 3 months of posted date
- Submit three (3) up-to-date written references

DESIRED SKILLS:
- Strong organization & management skills, include financial planning & staff scheduling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & listening skills
- Strong leadership & conflict management skills
- Excellent bookkeeping skills

Applicants are required to provide an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check within 3 months of the posted date and three (3) current written reference letters, with their resume.  Applicants who do not provide the above will not be selected for an interview.  The successful applicant will be required to submit an up-to-date drug test within 30 days of being appointed.
