Director of Finance is a member of senior management and will participate in decision making and operations. Director of Finance is responsible for management of all financial/administrative functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead annual budgeting and planning process.
Present annual budget and projections to Board of Directors.
Lead annual audit process.
Develop financial reports and present to stakeholders.
Administer financial forecasts and monitor progress/variances.
Manage access to and use of all bank accounts; monitor controls for use and reporting of activity.
Work with senior management on operational issues and provide recommendations.
Partake in ongoing planning process.
Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management.
Participate as required in general meetings.
Align financial management with short/long term financial planning.
Provide direct leadership for 2 out of scope employees.
Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes, ensure approvals and processing; monitor aged receivables/payables.
Implement accounting controls; develop policies to safeguard asset and property record activity.
Oversee manual/automated records to ensure compliance of appropriate standards.
Prepare journal entries.
Manage records of asset acquisition and disposal.
Manage financial contractual obligations.
Oversee development of payroll processes, monthly payroll, and processing of new hires/transfers/promotions/terminations.
Oversee preparation of periodic/year-end documents.
Qualifications:
Professional designation in accounting.
Minimum 3-5 yrs professional experience.
Experience of final responsibility for quality and content of financial data, reporting and audit coordination and has preferably overseen HR functions.
Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, internal controls and reporting.
Experience working with a board of directors.
