Job Description: The Public Health Inspector will use the Saskatchewan Tobacco Control Act and Public Health Act 1994 and it's regulations to improve the environment and public facilities for through education, inspections, consultations and monitoring in addition to responding to complaints and inquiries. This includes issues requiring compliance orders and directives and carries out enforcement proceedings. The Public Health Inspector will carry out wide range of field work activities with extensive travel within the Cypress Health Region using recognized sanitation techniques and methods. Activities to carry out all duties requires good independent judgment and risk assessment.
The Public Health Inspector will also be involved with promotion and enforcement of recognized enteric, zoonotic, vector-borne and environmental communicable disease public health standards and related bylaws and regulations.
The Public Health Inspector will use the Public Health Services Act and its regulations to improve the environment and facilities through education of the public, inspections, consultations and monitoring techniques. Considerable travel is involved.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Envionmental Health
Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada), CPHI
Valid drivers license and the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially.
Experience
Candidates who have completed the 12 week practicum and are awaiting certification are eligible to apply.
Preferred 1 year experience in Public Health Inspection
Candidates must possess good oral and written communication skills and have working knowledge of computers
