Description

The YMCA of Regina provides quality, structured programming for youth and teens of diverse abilities at the Northwest YMCA after regular school hours. We want to hire staff who are invested in supporting youth and teens, and see this position as more than just a pay cheque.

Hours of work: Monday-Friday 2:30 pm-6:00 pm

YMCA After School Program Leaders are expected to:
Plan, coordinate and implement fun, safe activities for Youth and Teens of diverse abilities in YMCA programs that promote personal development, social development, recreation and health.
Supervise and build relationships with all program participants and program families.
Provide a safe and supportive environment for Youth and Teens to grow and develop.
Be a strong leader and mentor to program participants.
Work in a collaborative team environment in order to achieve program related goals.

Required skills and qualifications:
-The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of organizational aptitude and creativity
-Experience or interest in working with Youth and Teens of all abilities, with a proven ability to effectively manage groups.
-Experience in lesson planning or ability to create basic lesson plans.  
-Strong leadership skills (an engaging leader, capable of inspiring program participants).
-Strong organizational skills, and able to handle several tasks at once.
-Ability to understand program objectives and implement programming that reflects the programs goals.
-Proven ability to build relationships and work well in a team.
- Read, understand and comply with all YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures.
-Attend and complete training as required.
-Able to produce a Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check.
-First Aid & CPR are an asset.
