The Prince Albert Police Service Victim Services Unit is inviting applications from qualified persons for the full time position of a Missing Persons Liaison.
The Victim Services Unit is a police-based program to assist victims of crime and traumatic events, through information, support, referral, and advocacy.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
-Serve as the Victim Services Units specialist on the needs of families of missing persons.
-Provide direct services and supports to families of missing persons. This includes emotional support, information, and referrals to other agencies and community resources.
-Work closely with the police services to provide a coordinated response to families of missing persons.
-Develop expertise in promising practices regarding supporting the families of missing persons.
-Develop related training materials and workshops.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid Drivers License
- Absence of a criminal record through fingerprint, C.P.I.C. and local indices check
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programming and basic computer systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess a desire and compassion to assist people experiencing difficult circumstances
- Possess a sound understanding and familiarity of community resources in Prince Albert
