Description

Right Road Farms Inc. is a moderate-sized family-run farm located two miles from the Village of Montmartre.  We produce beef cattle, wheat, canola, flax, and peas.  We are currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Cattle Herds Person.  This is a career position.  If qualified candidates cannot be sourced from Canadian citizens, Right Road Farms is approved to hire those who are currently accepted under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)for similar work/positions.
This position requires at least 3 to 5 years of proven responsible experience working with beef cattle.  Priority will be given to those with a secondary education.  Post-secondary education in agriculture and/or mechanics is an asset.  Physical health and the ability to maintain a demanding physical workload are essential.  Attention to detail & a strong work ethic are necessary to this position.
Duties include the daily monitoring, feeding, bedding & care of a beef cattle herd.  The employee will be responsible for assistance with calving, inoculations & tagging, & for assistance with veterinary procedures.  The employee will also be required for grain farming and haying where necessary and applicable.  
General farm duties & maintenance are also applicable to this position & may include(but are not limited to):
Planting, cultivating, & harvesting crops
Operation, maintenance and repair of farm machinery and equipment
Maintain, repair, and clean buildings and bins
Maintain roads and farmyards (mowing, grading, trimming, spraying, plowing snow, etc.)
This position will include furnished, private and detached, on-farm housing (this is an impeccable one-bedroom apartment).  All utilities are included, satellite television, wifi access, a mobile phone plan, use of a vehicle, & a reasonable food/grocery allowance.  WCB benefits.
