Description

The Structural Engineer is responsible for ensuring accuracy of designs, specifications, technical reports an cost estimates.  He/She is well-rounded and motivated to be involved in the complete spectrum of the project.

Tasks/Responsibilities
    Prepares engineering proposals, design criteria, preliminary designs, detailed engineering specifications and reports.
    Produces structural analysis for buildings and building accessories.
    Provides leadership regarding design, design change and completion of drawings.
    Communicates directly with external clients regarding foundations, installation of project specific equipment and potential building modifications.
    Ensures projects meet regulatory requirements and environmental directives.
    Provides engineering support during construction, attend project design and site meetings, and carry out field reviews.
    
Education/Experience
    Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and eligibility for Professional Registration with APEGS
    Minimum of 1-3 years of experience
    AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience is an asset
    Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
    Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing variety of tasks and meeting required deadlines.
    Able to identify innovative technical approaches to structural engineering.
    Ability to accurately apply codes and regulations.
    Ability to co-ordinate with all disciplines, extract and relay relevant information for complex projects.
    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    Self-starter and team player.
