The ATS Surface Weather Observers will work at the Contract Weather Office (CWO) at the Kindersley Airport. They provide the aviation sector with essential meteorological information by performing hourly weather observations and special observations to maintain current weather conditions. Aviation weather reports include cloud types, heights, and amounts, visibility, precipitation types and amounts, wind speed and direction, temperature and humidity information, atmospheric pressure information. These reports are transmitted and made available to a wide range of users.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
Candidates are required to have the following knowledge, skills and abilities in order to perform the duties of the Surface Weather Observer position effectively:
Possess a high school education.
Be 18 years of age at the start of the course.
Ability to attend an 4-6 week training course in Cornwall, Ontario.
