Job Description: The Communicable Disease (CD)/Immunization Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Regional public health activities to control and prevent communicable diseases, including surveillance and reporting responsibilities, as outlined in The Public Health Act, 1994 and The Disease Control Regulations and Saskatchewan Health directives and policies and other applicable federal legislation. The Communicable Disease (CD)/Immunization Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of immunization programs including the safe storage and distribution of vaccines. The Communicable Disease (CD)/Immunization Coordinator assists with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to communicable disease control, immunization programs and infection control. Participates in the continuing education of staff in relation to communicable disease control and immunization programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
Demonstrated competence in practice area with a minimum of five years continuous and progressive experience in community health, communicable disease control and vaccine management.
