Description

Camp Monahan, a children's summer camp, located on the south shores of Lake Katepwa in the Qu'Appelle Valley, is looking for an enthusiastic experienced caretaker for the 2017 season. This is a seasonal full time position from approximately April 24, 2017- September 1, 2017 (approximately 18 weeks). The caretaker is responsible for opening the camp in May including grounds preparation, start-up of plumbing, water wells, sewage systems, preparing swimming pool and filtration systems. During May and June, the caretaker will act as the onsite host for rental groups. You will be working as part of team that provides a fun, challenging camping experience with Christian principles. Room and board is provided onsite.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
-Providing support to all areas and departments of Camp Monahan
-Corresponding with the Executive Director regularly
-Following/maintaining detailed lists of activities undertaken (provided by and in reporting to the Building & Grounds Chair)
-Landscaping/grounds clean up; keeping camp clean and safe for all
-Trash pick- up and disposal
-Painting, carpentry, plumbing, chopping wood
-Performing repairs and maintenance on equipment
-Daily maintenance of the Jr Olympic sized pool- chemical/ pump/filter checks, etc.
-Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or the Building & Grounds Chair

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
-Experience in facility maintenance
-Basic understanding of working with tools/power tools
-Plumbing knowledge is required
-Strong work ethic; ability to work as part of a team
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to work with youth in a positive manner and as a role model at all times
-Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license
-Criminal/vulnerable sector record check
-Knowledge of current WHMIS guidelines
-Valid Pool Operator's Certificate
-Basic First Aid
-Valid Boat Operator's Certificate
