The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Enforce rules and regulations outlined in the LLRIB Housing Policy.
- Administration of the Band's Home Ownership Program.
- Communicate directly with Band membership in a respectful and confidential manner regarding LLRIB Housing Policy, lease agreements, tenant responsibilities, etc.
- Conduct semi-annual home inspections on rental units and provide reports on their condition.
- Investigate, respond and provide written reports related to complaints made by or about tenants, arrears of accounts, excessive noise, rental unit damage, etc. and take corrective action as required.
- Update and maintain client files in a confidential and professional manner.
- Maintain positive public relations on behalf of the department.
- Work with the Housing Staff in managing the Housing portfolio.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of Grade 12 education, GED 12 or Adult 12.
- One year Post-Secondary education in Finance or Public Administration
- Previous experience in housing/home ownership field would be an asset.
- Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- A basic understanding of Band housing programs.
- MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with the public and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to understand and willingly enforce policies.
- Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
Position: Permanent full time position starting as soon as possible.
Salary: In accordance with applicable salary grid.
