Position Description/Summary:
Prevention Services Recreation Worker reports to the Prevention Services Manager. The primary objective is to work with families and youth at risk by providing recreational opportunities that will promote healthy active lifestyles in the communities of Sucker River and Hall Lake
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing evidence based parenting programming to families which will enable them to live in a healthy, functioning family unit.
- Obtaining accreditation in a Best Practice parent training program.
- Provide youth and families with opportunities to experience traditional lifestyle.
- Assists with facilitating workshops and seminars on appropriate parenting and life skills.
- Working closely with all community resource personnel to establish services for youth.
- Advocating and assisting clients to remove barriers.
- Coordinating family camps: large and mini groups, and family and youth outings.
- Maintaining accurate program files.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Criminal Record, Child Abuse, and Driver's Abstract Clearance
