Description

Duties and responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator will ensure for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for critical enterprise systems.
Duties include:
-    Evaluates the day-to-day operations of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council technology operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
-    Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures.
-    Establishes, maintains and manages user accounts. Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems.
-    Assists in developing procedures to maintain security and protect systems.
-    Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the server operating systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, and network components.
-    Develops tools, procedures, and training sessions.
-    Monitors the data center and computer systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.
-    Participates in the development and implementation of standards of computer use.

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Associates Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
-    A combination of education and experience may be considered.
-    Network or server administration certification considered an asset.

Skills:
-    Programming languages and operating systems.
-    Server and systems administration.
-    Enterprise backup and recovery procedures.
-    Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
-    Good oral communication skills with previous customer service experience.
