Description

Unit Operations Engineers perform technical support tasks related to the operation of assigned units. This includes monitoring unit operations, providing technical assistance and direction to Process Operators, communicating with other departments on operational changes, coordinating with maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation, and establishing specifications with Planning & Scheduling to provide quality products for the Co-operative Retailing System. 24-hour availability for technical consultation and to assist with operational issues may be required.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- effectively monitoring, advising, and directing the operation of assigned units;
acting in a technical advisory capacity, consulting regularly on unit specific issues with process licensors and suppliers;
- troubleshooting and optimizing assigned process units to ensure safe and efficient operation;
- coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, and Inspection on issues and repairs in the units;
- initiating, justifying, and following up on work orders and capital projects within assigned units; providing technical input as required; preparing shutdown and start up orders and timelines for upcoming Turnarounds;
- assisting Yield Accounting to ensure that unit mass balances are reviewed and adjusted as required and assists in preparing the unit expense budgets.
