Disability Claims Advocacy Clinic (DCAC) is seeking part-time, contract based submissions writers to help people who have been denied CPP disability.
Clinic provides case-management services to those individuals who are applying for or who have been denied long-term disability benefits.
Duties of the position include:
Reviewing and summarizing voluminous medical evidence;
Preforming legal research;
Assisting with interviews of clients; and
Drafting submissions to be submitted at various levels of the appeal process.
Qualifications:
Paralegal diploma (or equivalent knowledge and experience)
Knowledge of medical terminology
Excellent legal research and writing skills;
Excellent organization and commutation skills;
Ability to meet strict deadlines;
Ability to work independently;
Reliable home computer and internet connection; and
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
