Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversee and guide the accounting clerical staff involved in the daily accounting functions, including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
Train and develop and support the accounting team members.
Assist the Controller in the development of financial and tax strategies.
Assist with internal audit testing and documentation.
Participate in the corporate budgeting process as requested.
Participate in key decisions as a member of the accounting team.
Maintain good relations with all members of the accounting and management team.
Manage internal preparation for fiscal year-end audit and participate in audits as directed by the Controller.
Maintain a documented system of controls, accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
Oversee the company's transaction processing systems.
Assist with the completion of the annual tax package.
Education and Training:
Should have a professional accounting designation of CPA. A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field with equivalent business experience may be considered.
Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (ERP, Word, Excel and Microsoft Dynamics GP).
Must have 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in the (agricultural) manufacturing industry.
