NIS Contractors Ltd. requires an Estimator to join our construction team. The Estimator reports directly to Management and is responsible for all procurement processes including take-offs, construction estimates, and completion of tenders from beginning to close.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret bid documents and technical drawings to identify engineering specifications and quantities
- Evaluate & estimate manpower, materials, and project planning and schedule
- Reviews tender requirements and completes tendering process including submission of documents
- Procure scope of work & pricing for subcontractors and suppliers
- Assist in obtaining all appropriate bonding and insurance requirements
- Assist in project close-out & completion
- Attend and participate in site visits, pre-bid and post-bid meetings
- Track and record project awards and rejections.
- Monitor and provide job cost reports to management on active projects
- Communicate with subcontractors
- Provide data/input for month end progress payment requests.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in estimating construction projects, preferably in the heavy construction industry.
- Diploma from an accredited institution, or combination of related education and industry experience.
- General construction knowledge that includes understanding/reading engineered drawings, specifications and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to establish strong working relationship with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Ability to work in a team environment and under pressure.
- Self motivated individual with strong problem solving skills and willing to take on new challenges.
