Description

The successful candidate will be expected to have demonstrated experience in:
Successful leadership with the ability to inspire & mobilize others to achieve exemplary performance & outcomes in research, education & scholarship
Broad thinking, innovative & creative leader; open to new opportunities & ideas
Ability to facilitate & manage change within a large & diverse organization
Understanding & enabling the role of nursing in achieving Patient & Family Centred Care
Experience as a dean, associate dean, director or other similar leadership position
Deep understanding of & commitment to diversity & inclusivity
Awareness of the significance of Indigenous traditions & knowledge, ability to engage with Indigenous communities & support the teaching, learning & research of Aboriginal & non-Aboriginal students, staff & faculty
Facilitation of building, articulating & pursuing a vision
Establish & maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty & staff; promoting teamwork, collaboration & partnership
Experience in a complex, dynamic, & multi-union environment
Budgetary & financial management, human resources & labour relations
Mentoring new faculty
Commitment to openness, transparency & accountability
Commitment to interdisciplinarity & multiple ways of knowing
Clearly articulated & well-established program of funded research & publications
Willingness to promote & embrace diverse teaching & research
Communicating & implementing strategies for recruiting exceptional faculty, staff & students
Building positive relationships with external organizations & effectively representing the colleges interests
Ability to support & advance the profession at the local, provincial, national & international levels
Commitment to engage in & develop fund-raising activities
