Description

The successful candidate will be expected to have demonstrated experience in:
success as a leader who has the ability to inspire & mobilize others to achieve exemplary performance & outcomes in research & education
as a dean, associate dean, department chair, director or other relevant leadership position; demonstrated breadth of experience through interdisciplinary collaborations
Involvement in the facilitation of building, articulating & pursuing a vision for a unit
deep understanding of, & commitment to, diversity & inclusivity
Ability to engage with Indigenous communities, appreciate the significance of Indigenous traditions & knowledge & support the teaching, learning & research of Aboriginal & non-Aboriginal students, staff  & faculty
record of the promotion of teamwork, collaboration & partnership
broad, innovative & creative leader who is open to new opportunities & ideas
ability to establish constructive working relationships with students & student leaders; appreciates the role of a student-centric university
to facilitate & manage change within a large & diverse organization
understanding of administration within a complex collegial, multi-union environment
building & leading a highly-functional team
budgetary & financial management, human resources & labour relations
mentoring new faculty for success through the tenure & promotion process
Commitment to openness, transparency & accountability
commitment to advancing a strong research mandate within the school; encouraged inter-professional collaboration
