Fast Genetics is currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a permanent full-time position in our innovative company as a Technical Service Specialist.
The successful candidate is ideally based out of either our Ames, IA or Saskatoon, SK office but with the ability to travel unrestricted internationally.
This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions, but is not limited to:
Provide technical resource support for Fast Genetics internal production and third party multiplication;
Build strong relationships with packers;
Provide technical service to Fast Genetics customers;
Involvement in research and development trials;
Disseminate nutrition specifications and other guidelines for Fast Genetics animals to industry;
Be involved in the pioneering of sex sorted sperm to Fast Genetics customers.
The successful candidate would ideally possess the following experience and qualifications:
Minimum undergraduate degree in Animal Science or related field;
Knowledge and a minimum of 5 years of experience in swine production and genetics;
Team-orientated;
Ability to travel and work flexible hours;
Outstanding communication skills;
Research and project management skills;
Strong interpersonal skills.
