Description

General Sandblasting & Painting is currently looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual to join our Service Department as a Maintenance Mechanic.

The successful candidate must hold a valid Class 5 (or greater) license, as well as the ability to drive both automatic and standard transmissions, demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to reach tight deadlines in high pressure situations.

The candidate will also demonstrate:

- The ability to work independently, performing basic repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles, compressors and various pieces of equipment such as zoom booms, loaders, forklifts, etc.
- The ability to perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, and be responsible for keeping detailed records of work done, materials used and time spent.
- The ability to diagnose/identify mechanical and electrical malfunctions with the vehicles, compressors and powered mobile equipment.
- The ability to coordinate and prioritize the mechanical department needs as they arise.

Position is responsible for maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles, compressors and powered mobile equipment. Diagnosing vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary. Completing all necessary documents, including vehicle records. Maintaining cleanliness in all work areas. Performing all assigned duties in a safe and productive manner, as well as performing all other duties as assigned by the Service Department Manager.

The successful candidate must have all their own tools, as well as steel toed boots.

Apprentices are welcome.

Position is subject to unscheduled overtime.
