Description

Job Description: Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic Senior Program Director to plan, organize and run the camps canoe and hiking programs for campers aged 13 to 15. This 7 week program is responsible for teaching campers the skills of trip planning, orienteering, packing, outdoor food preparation, canoeing, backpacking and the appreciation of low-impact camping. You will lead campers on two seven-day canoe trips down the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley as well as two 3-day hiking trips around the scenic Katepwa Lake. Applicants must be 18-years or older.  While on site, this director will also work with fellow staff to positively guide the campers through all other camp activities and is expected to fully participate in the camp experience including chapel , campfire, meals, group activities and staff meetings.  This position works closely with the Programming & Planning Chair of the Board of Directors and reports to the Executive and Camp Director.
Skills/Assets:
- Practicing Catholic and/or comfortable with Christian teachings and practices
- High Five training is an asset
- First Aid/CPR C required
- Canoeing experience required
- Swimming (Bronze Medallion) strong asset
- Outdoor education experience with fire-starting, shelter building and certification as a boater's license; experience with children as well as love of nature and camp life
- Willingness to volunteer in pre-camp preparation, camp shutdown, fundraising, promotion activities

A criminal record check and all certificates are required of all successful applicants.  This person must adhere to Camp policy and be a positive role model at all times.
