MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs/directs loading of plates on to burning table
Checks plate for gauge, width, length, grade, heat number, and slab number to processing package/WO
Enters all required information into the AS400 as required for processing information
Scans tags to be processed as part of the plate verification step in Flame Cut (AS400)
Sets up burning machine with proper tips/pressures/amp/squares torches/sets torches to process material to customer specs
Checks system for proper test reports
Processes and completes a first off inspection
Records inspection dimensions on inspection sheets
Verifies piece count/weight of finished products is correct as per work order requirements
Informs supervision of any quality/dimensions issues
Marks and identifies material with heat/slab number
Completes necessary reports and all required paperwork
Writes tag/heat number/slab number/size/grain direction and attaches tags to material for RTS
Cuts scrap on table to be removed and placed in scrap box
Trains new employees as required
Helps to maintain safety and directs maintenance of good housekeeping in work areas
Assists with various other duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of High School education, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience Operating an Overhead Crane
The ability to understand specs from CAD drawing or blue print
English, spoken and written
Previous experience would be considered an asset
