We are seeking an individual to join the teams based at the Leslie & Irene Dube Health Sciences Library and the Veterinary Medicine Library at the University of Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the Head of the Health Science Libraries, the appointee will be assigned the following responsibilities:
Developing collaborative relationships with faculty to support teaching and research
Providing reference and information services, including research consultations to students, faculty and researchers
Developing and delivering information literacy instruction using traditional classroom and active learning methods as well as innovative educational technologies
Developing instructional and training materials in print, web-based, and interactive formats using e-learning technologies where appropriate
Developing collections and information resources, including monitoring the subject approval plans and selecting resources as requested by faculty and graduate students
An ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree or equivalent is required. Experience in health sciences librarianship is an asset. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate:
Knowledge and understanding of instructional techniques for teaching information literacy skills
Ability to teach effectively in both group and individual settings
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
A commitment to evidence-based professional practice
A commitment to developing professional knowledge and skills on a continuing basis
