Summer Student JobIn 2016, EYES reached over 13,000 southern Saskatchewan youth. We believe that providing children with fun and challenging learning experiences develops a life-long love of creative exploration, which is at the heart of scientific discovery. This kind of a learning environment also encourages cooperation, self-confidence and critical thinkingskills and attitudes that are important in living a healthy lifestyle. In July and August, lead a group of campers through the EYES summer camp program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Function as a positive role model for campers as someone who is engaged and interested in engineering and science.
Help campers develop scientific literacy and a sense of competency in science and engineering.
Opportunity to be involved in satellite camps in various locations in southern Saskatchewan in July and August.
Routinely work overtime hours as required
Attend the EYES staff overnight retreat in the first week of May
Create short promotional, fun videos to be submitted to funders, sponsors, parents, and social media.
Qualifications
Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education.
Strong organizational skills
Experience with WordPress is an asset
Experience working with children/youth
Experience working with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
Strong time management skills are required.
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
Local Candidates
Group Interviews will be held on Saturday, March 11.
Individual Interviews will be held on Saturday, March 18.
Out of town Candidates
Submit a short video (2-5 minutes) advertising a science themed program in your area.
