To assist and provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities in the day program. Understands, agrees with the acts according to the principles, values and mandate of Harvest Community Inc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To be a role model in the work place.
2. Upon request to be the alternate bus driver.
3. To support, and work alongside Day Program Participants performing work activities in the day program and the farm site.
4. To support and assist in any programming as required in consultation with Program Manager.
5. To communicate effectively with other staff.
6. To support wiping rag operation by cutting, sorting, weighing, and boxing textiles, and ensuring high quality standards are met.
7. To support glove packaging process, and to ensure accuracy.
8. To support handi-flag production and other light assembly production and ensuring high quality products that are up to industry standards.
9. To assist in organizing work projects as directed by the Day Program Supervisor.
10. To express any concerns regarding Program Participants to the Day Program Supervisor who will in turn address any issues (with the Program Manager if necessary).
11. To attend training seminars as directed.
12. Other related duties as assigned.
Abilities and skills required:
1. Ability to encourage adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in activities.
2. Can patiently demonstrate activities to individuals.
3. Current First Aid and CPR.
4. Must have a valid Saskatchewan Drives license, Class 4 license
5. Demonstrates a good work ethic and job appreciation.
Applicants considered for this position will be require to provide a Police Record Check with Vulnerability Sector Check.
