McNab Regional Park is looking for an experienced Greenskeeper for their 9-Hole golf course.
Objective: Manage the environmental health of the greens and ensure that their facilities meet the needs of the players while still turning a profit.
Responsibilities
-Train & Manage successful employees to maintain a small golf course. To oversee employee safety with equipment.
-Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the greens, trees and plants in golfing facilities.
-Maintenance of recreational facilities of the Regional Park including camp sites, wooded areas and clubhouse grounds
-Managing the application of fertilizers and pesticides while meeting local, provincial and federal environmental regulations
-Maintain and service the golf course equipment, golf carts and order supplies and maintain equipment.
-Ability to prevent problems & diagnose problem in greens, tees, fairways, irrigation breaks and come up with a recommendation to fix it.
- -Work within a tight budget to manage labor, chemical, fertilizer, irrigation, tools, mowers and other expenses
Skills & Traits
-Knows about Golf Industry and the importance of what golfers want on a course.
-Post-secondary degree in golf course management, including areas of turfgrass, horticulture, general botany, irrigation, fertilizers and pest control.
-Understanding of Irrigation, Pumps, Sprinklers and Water Usage
-Understanding of cutting and aeration of the golf course to maintain a beautiful and playable course and a -general knowledge of lawn & cart equipment and mechanical items needed
-Self-Motivated -Willingness to share new ideas to generate new customers and grow the club as a whole
-Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
-Team Player with all club departments
-Organized, Ability to Multi-Task and Good Communicator
