POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Comptroller, a fulltime permanent position, is responsible for preparing and ensuring accuracy of financial statements including trial balance accounts, maintaining account receivables, general ledgers, bank reconciliations, cash controls, managing the payroll and personnel administration, oversees the administration of benefit entitlements and payments, purchasing, managing office operations, verifying and monitoring financial transactions and entering them into the accounting program, and assists senior management in the preparation of annual program budgets and annual audit. The Comptroller shall adhere to established procedures as set out in Thunderchild First Nation acts and policies. Carry out other related work as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from a four-year college or university in accounting or a related field; or any equivalent combination or experience and training.
Considerable experience working in First Nation communities.
Thorough knowledge of AccPac, management systems, payroll procedures, verifying and interpreting financial data and records
Excellent communications skills
Ability to coordinate with employees and management in various departments
Must be bondable
Satisfactory Criminals Records Check due prior to work start; and,
Valid class 5 Drivers License and drivers abstract
