This permanent, full time position is an integral component of our infrastructure maintenance and Public Works processes associated with infrastructure repair, renewal and maintenance, including operation at City facilities. We are seeking a long term, goal-oriented individual with interest in a municipal career.
The Equipment Operator "B" will be required to:
- perform daily operating assignments;
- be responsible for all maintenance of assigned equipment;
- assist with minor repairs and maintenance;
- possess or obtain a thorough knowledge of the operation of assigned equipment including excavators, frontend loaders etc;
- maintain accurate equipment logs and maintenance forms;
- be physically fit and prepared to work in the outdoor environment in all weather conditions;
- occasionally perform overtime work outside regular hours of operation;
- participate in the afterhours and weekend "On Call" rotation;
- perform all other assigned duties as required.
The successful candidate will:
- have completed Grade 12 or equivalent;
- have or obtain a valid Class 3A driver's license;
- have or obtain operator's certification for at least two types of heavy equipment;
- have knowledge of municipal infrastructure maintenance and repair - will be considered an asset;
Salary Range: $23.98 - $24.48/hour as per CUPE Local 90 agreement
