Duties and responsibilities:
Under the Supervision of the Camp Manager, the Bus Driver Program Counsellor is responsible for the operation of their area. Duties include:
- Developing, implementing and supervising programs for specific areas
- Maintaining program area in a safe and orderly fashion
- Assisting in organizing and implementing evening activities and Special Day Events
- Preparing schedules and reports for the program area
- Encouraging camper participation
- Actively participating with campers in program areas
- May be required to provide personal care to campers ages 6 to over 65
- Creating an environment in which campers can experience emotional growth and development
- Documenting and reporting relevant information regarding the campers health and safety; includes camper reports
- Other duties as specified by the Camp Manager or designate
Qualifications:
- Experience in one of the following: Horse-back Riding, Waterfront/Lifeguard (NLS or Bronze Cross certified), Sports, Rustic Camping, Arts & Crafts, Bus Driving (valid drivers license)
- Recreational experience an asset
- Ability to work with people with varying abilities
- Effective interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Oral communication skills
- Positive attitude
