Key Responsibilities
The Automotive Technician is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to shop activities as the Automotive Technician may be required to perform field work on down buses.
* Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
* Diagnose equipment problems
* Respond to breakdowns
* Spring and winter maintenance
* Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
* Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
* Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
* Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Requirements
* Journeyman Ticket
* Own hand tools
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* 2  5 years related experience
* Valid Drivers Licence (Class 3 or 2 considered an asset)
* CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset
* Exposure to working on diesel engines
* Analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors)
* Computer proficiency

Remuneration
* Commensurate with experience
* Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday)
* Employee Benefits Plan (after 3 month probation)
* Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year)
