Description

Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Prince Albert Campus, is currently seeking a Library Clerk to work on a casual basis.

Responsibilities of the position include:
1. Provide excellent service at the Library Circulation Desk.
2. Assist clients with use of computer stations (logging into the Network, MySaskPolytech, SaskPolytech Libraries catalogue, MS Office applications, and scanning) and all other Library equipment including copiers and printers.
3. Troubleshoot problems related to computers, network login, MS Office applications, Creation Station (multi-purpose multimedia computer station), printer/copiers, and any other Library equipment.
4. Handle requests for general information.
5. Perform circulation tasks such as check-out and check-in of materials through the automated SIRSI Unicorn circulation module; place holds; maintain reserves.
6. Shelve library resources and shelf read.
7. Perform cash sales of supplies.
8. Provide other clerical support as required (including photocopying and note-taking).

Qualifications of the position include:
1. Completion of Grade 12 supplemented with relevant training or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Minimum six months recent, relevant customer service experience.
3. Training and/or experience in the use of MS Word and Excel.
4. Knowledge of common office procedures.
5. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
7. Working knowledge of computers and related office equipment.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
9. Ability to perform multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy.
10. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
