Description

Competencies:
(1)Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, the social sciences or a Bachelors degree or graduate certificate in Forensic Science & Technology  Crime & intelligence Analysis with minimum two years of related analytical experience which must include applied research preferably in law enforcement or government OR Masters degree in social sciences with strong emphasis on research methodology.  
(2)Two years of related work experience in policing or public administration that includes autonomous research, statistical analysis, report writing, presentations or other similar work.
(3)Willing to attend & successfully complete Strategic Intelligence Analysis Course (Canadian Police College), Tactical Intelligence Analysis Course (Canadian Police College), ACIIS (Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System) & CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) Course.  
(4)A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience in using analytical, mapping and/or other similar software.  The ability to utilize social media platforms & conduct a range of open-source searching is an asset.  An understanding of internal police databases & the ability to work with analytical software products is a must.
(5)Through presentations & written work, demonstrates an effective and accurate ability to communicate findings, conclusions & recommendations.
(6)Knowledge of sound research & analytical methodologies with a demonstrated ability to compile & analyze data through well-structured reports.
(7)Able to exercise independent judgement & action in executing work expectations & a wide variety of skill in data analysis, technology, telephone analysis, financial analysis, etc.    
(8)Must be able to pass RCMP Security Screening & obtain Reliability status with the RCMP.  (Canadian citizenship is required for this level of clearance.)
