The Curator of Wanuskewin Galleries is currently seeking an Art Gallery Assistant FT seasonal. The ideal candidate should have the following accountabilities:
-aid Curator with accessioning and cataloguing art collection
-Interpretive guide for art exhibitions
-research and aid in creating current docent guides
-Administrative duties such as answering enquiries via email and telephone and filing
-promoting gallery programming via Web and email
-aid Curator with preparatory work such as installation, de-installation, documentation, condition reporting and shipment of art
-networking with art community and other like-minded organizations
Experience and Qualifications:
-Knowledge of Indigenous art practice, contemporary art and art history
-comfortable with public speaking
-Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Applications
-Fine arts, art history, Indigenous Studies, art education is considered an asset
-Reliable transportation and Class 5 Drivers
-required to produce a current CPIC
