The NCSO is responsible for the administration of procedures (development and implementation), as well as tracking, monitoring and reporting on the safety aspect of projects or construction activities.
Complete, implement, direct, enforce, and maintain the safety program and manual. Continuously improve and monitor the safety culture of the company, as well as the safety program; add and modify to the system as required to continuously improve.
Maintain COR certification and all other HSE Certifications
The position is mainly field based , with the requirement to travel to each site as needed to closely monitor the program and individual requirements, as well as specific help and training for our supervisors to be able to implement the system and follow the program. The work week will be 40+ hours, or as required to complete duties.
The NCSO must possess the following skills and personal characteristics:
1. Possess good organizational skills, ability to multi-task between several tasks and follow clear rules and organized methods.
2. Good oral and written communication skills.
3. Good interpersonal skills with mediation and conflict resolution capabilities.
4. Ability to remain open-minded and objective while working as part of a team and/or independently to make decisions related to safety programs and issues.
5. Ability to build relationships based on trust through knowledge, practice and leadership while acting as an advocate for workers.
6. Have general good health and physical fitness.
7. Must be able to work without continuous direction and must be self motivated and goal oriented.
8. Must have an electrical construction and mining experience.
9. The NCSO must be proficient with computer software programs such as Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
10. Must have a valid drivers license and a clean record.
11. Must possess a valid NCSO certificate
