Description

A full time permanent job opportunity for a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic, Truck & Transport Mechanic or 4th Year Apprentice has opened up with our client based in North Battleford.  Our client is a well established locally owned company with branches across Saskatchewan.  The role is only open to candidates who currently hold a journeyperson ticket, however our client will also consider 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic or Truck & Transport apprentices who have sufficient hours.

Work schedule:  four 10hr shifts, primarily Monday to Thursday

Duties:
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment, both mobile and stationary
- Hands on troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, overhaul, and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment used in hauling, earth moving and landfill operations, and commercial trash compaction equipment and balers
- Dealing with breakdowns in the shop, on the road, and at customer sites

Qualifications and skills:
- 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyperson Heavy Equipment or Truck and Transport Technician, some experience with truck and trailer an asset
- Full set of hand tools required
- Wide experience in electronic and pneumatic control systems, diagnostics on control systems hardware and software problems is an asset
- Able to work in a team environment but capable of working independently
- Minimum valid Class 5 drivers license with acceptable abstract required
